How is it compared to other islands?

I'm considering going in August, but I'm not sure if this is the place. Any help? Also, does anyone know if the Ritz Carlton will be completed by then?
thanks

There are Ritz Carltons all over the world, dear.

You must tell us which one you're referring to.

If it's Grand Cayman, it's scheduled for completion in late 2003.

What's the problem? I asked a straightforward question. Why can't I just get an answer? Why's everybody got to give me a hard time? I know there are Ritz Carltons all over the world. I'm not interested in them.
All I want to know is how is it compared to other islands, is this the place, and will the Ritz Carlton be completed by August.
If you don't know, don't bother to send a reply.
If you do know, then tell me.

To answer your question, No the Ritz will not be open by August. They still have tons of work to do!!! Have fun. GC is a wonderful island. The water is beautfiul and diving is great. Enjoy!!
Joe: You did not ask a straightforward question. You never indicated which island. And your second post was even more confusing. You cannot compare the Ritz to other islands because the Ritz is not an island.

Even if you post a message under a certain island, it goes to the whole general board.

Joe,

Not to be rude but your question wasn't "straight-forward". The other people simply were asking YOU straighforward questions by asking where you want to go - so this is no need to get excited.

If you read your original question again you don't state where you want to go in August?????

Just some food for thought.

Lori

Joe,

Relax dude, nobody understood because even though YOU thought you were on the GC board, your message gets posted to the general carribean board, and YOU never indicated what island.

And to actually answer your question, there is absolutely no way the Ritz will be ready in August. I was just there in March, and the Although they were working on it (a little) it looked pretty much the same as it did in '2000. They say 2003, but I wouldn't bet on it. Even once they finish, it'll be way over priced anyway. Beautiful I'm sure, but just as ridiculously priced (or more) than the Westin.

You have some major backpeddling to do 'joewilliams'.

You're all angry and insulting people here simply because YOU don't know how to properly post a question.

If you've never posted a question here and don't know how, that's fine by me. But don't get all cranky at others here when you're the one with your head on backwards. If you happened to select "Grand Cayman" on the location dropdown menu, that DOES NOT appear on or in your post or to any readers here.

Bottom line is it's impossible to tell what island you're asking about.
The Ritz Carlton will be complete in 2003.
Yet again, they were slated to open 2002. They have had trouble with building permits etc. I know this, because I have spoken directly to representatives of The Ritz Carlton.
As far as August in the Caymans. It is hot-hot-hot. But if you like beautiful water it's a nice place to go.
If you are interested in a resort setting, try The Westin. It's on a lovely part of 7MB and in August it won't be crowded. Have fun!
