how do i choose?

I would love some non-commercial help choosing an island. I am ultimately looking for a place not crowded, no beggars, no gambling (which attracts a rough crowd) and something with not too many sights since i only want to laze in the sun and I don't want the guilt of feeling I should be doing more. Oh yeah, no hotels. I'd like to rent a house or condo for two weeks only. Sound picky? You betcha. Any advice/links would be great.
-Ryan

Your island is Anguilla and the place to stay is Blue Waters villas!

You might want to check out St. John, USVI, where there are loads of villas in all price catagories and amenities to choose from. Just beach, beach and more wonderful beaches ... or take a look at some of the wonderful villas available in the BVI on Virgin Gorda and the surrounding islands! Anguilla is a good option too! There are some wonderful homes on Long Island (Jumby Bay) connected with Jumby Bay resort off Antigua also that are just fantastic!

No Ryan it sounds great to me. I have to agree with Karen-St. John and Anguilla. Great beaches and restaurants. Jumby is lovely, we just prefer more restaurant choices.

I know of a lovely apartment run by a priest on Union Island in the Grenadines. Gorgeous views and no one around to bother you at all! If you REALLY want to relax, this could be the place for you. St John USVI s also a good choice. Anguilla has beautiful beaches but you will see more people.

OH yeah, the rate is only about $50/night, it has spectacular ocean views, and it's very new.
Hi Ryan,
Do a little research on the 2 smaller Cayman Islands (Little Cayman & Cayman Brac). I think they'd fit your request to a tee. Brac is a bit more rugged. LC is more "beachy". Lots of birds, few people, just beach bums & divers. The only sites are the natural ones, no casinos or tourist traps.

Have fun!
~PP
