Carolyn is one of the best, most knowledgeable guides on island and an old friend. Soloman Kerr out of Negril is also good for Westmoreland Parish exploring. I've never heard of 'Sun Mountain' -- must be in de bush -- but she'll find it.

I've never heard of it either.
You might check with the b board at jamaicans.com - lots of Jamaicans post there someone might know.
Do you recall what parish it was in or what general area? Is it a town name or a church or a camp or...?

Try to mentally retrack your arrival/departure in 83.Did you come thru MoBay or Kingston;how long did it take to get to Sun Mt.and was it in high mountains or just atop a hill;do you remember any towns, landmarks en route or nearby;do you remember the name of the church affiliate group on island you worked with or any of the pastors/priests. Like finding misplaced keys, it might work == or at least give Carolyn some more clues. Good luck.
