Hotel decision in Nassau

We are going to Nassau for a week in March and need a bit of help deciding which hotel. I've been considering the Comfort Suites and the Marriott-Cable Beach as well as the Radisson there. We thought about doing 3 nights at Cable Beach and then moving to Comfort Suites so we can use the Atlantis facilities. Where is best for nice beach and to do water sports such as jet skis, banana rides, etc? Traveling with an 18 year old daughter. I think I have enough info on Paradise Island but not much on the Cable Beach facilities.

Hi Marilyn,
I hae stayed at the Radisson and at Atlantis. Both beaches offer the same water activities. The beach at the Radisson is actually a little nicer than the Atlantis. It's flatter and wider, but both beaches are nice. The Beach Towers at Atlantis are actually cheaper than the Comfort Suites with some packages and it's WAY more convenient. Your daughter would probably have more to do at Atlantis.
Have fun whatever you decide.

Marilyn: We try to get down to Nassau every other year and we stay on Cable Beach at the Hotel Nassau Beach (save a few bucks)which is two doors' down from the Radisson and next door to the Marriott.

I'd prefer the Radisson. It's a good hotel with a nice beach. The Marriott is a giant, but rather ugly (sorry, folks) establishment that isn't all that it's supposed to be. I'd forego the Paradise Island stay, even being able to use the Atlantis' facilities and pick the Radisson. By the time you walk to the Atlantis' beach you could've been on your second Kalik at the Radisson.

Have fun!

Just a thought. Ever think about the hotel with soul? The Old British Colonial Hotel, the first one ever built for millionaire visitors in the early 1900's is on Bay Street in downtown Nassau, just a one minute walk from the downtown Straw Market. It has 9 acres of plush, tropical grounds and a large private beach in the back, with a large swimming pool as well. Several of the old James Bond movies were filmed in the old "B.C." as the natives nicknamed her. There is a dive op there and other water sports as well. Millions have been spent several years ago and she is totally revamped. Check into the B.C. If you have specific questions, feel free to e-mail me. Robert

Marilyn, I would forgo the Cable Beach idea and just stay on Paradise Island. The beach is big enoug so that you can walk a bit down and get some time to yourselves.

The amenities at the Atlantis are breathtaking and for your 18 yr old, who has probably already seen the resort on TV on MTV, she will be amazed. There will be something to do all the time and of course the water slides and lazy river are spectacular.

Also staying at the Comfort Suites will save a couple of dollars, since breakfast is included and you can hit the local grocery store on PI for snacks and sodas. I think the CS also has refrig in the room.

Hope this helps have a great trip and if you need any more info on the Bahamas please let me know.

Marilyn, I would like to share some info with you about a great place to stay, but it's much too long to post to this site. I have made 2 attempts to send an e-mail to the address you listed on this site, but both attempts have failed. Please contact me directly (if you have another e-mail address that I can use. I think my info would be useful to you in planning a great vacation. Hope to hear from you.

Marilyn, Please stay away from the Radisson. It is terribly over-priced for what you get and the staff is incorrigable. The beach is beautiful but the hotel left a great deal to desire. Please feel free to email me with any specific questions you may have. J

Try looking into Breezes. Watersports are included. ( not jetskis.) Clean and food is included. Its right on the beach. You can always take a taxi to Atlantis for the day. Marriotts casino is just up the beach.

Hi, My aunt is coming to visit us from Belfast, N. Ireland in November. My mom, 64 and myself,42 were thinking of taking her for a 4 day weekend to Bahamas. It's been 5 years since I stayed at the Crystal Palace on Cable Beach. I was thinking of trying Paradise Island, but it has to be the most economical trip. What should I do?

Jackie, take a look at the Comfort Suites on Paradise Island. Staying there you have full access to all the amenities at the Atlantis and the price is about half. Also included in the the room rate is a continental breakfast, which would help in cutting down on expenses.

Also you can get a refrig in your room and keep sodas and munchies.

The Comfort Suites has a nice pool area and it's much quieter than the Atlantis so you have the best of everything. There is also a nice bar area so you can veg out there or go to the pool at the Atlantis or head to the beach.

Hope this helps have a fun trip.

tweedy
