Horned dorset feedback out there??

The Horned Dorset on Rincon is one of the places up for serious consideration for our 25th anniversary trip - has anyone been recently that give me some feedback - positive or otherwise?

Other places up for consideration - Jamaica Inn in Ocho Rios, Villa del Sol in Zihuatenejo, Golden Lemon in St. Kitts....any opinions out there on these places?? I appreciate the input - this is the first time I am going to blow my budget, so I want things to be worth it!!! You can see I am steering towards the smaller, more intimate resorts. Any thoughts appreciated!

Maybe you should repost and list all properties--"Planning 25th Wedding Anniv.--need your feedback from recent trips to either Horned Dorset Primav., Golden Lemon, Jamaica Inn or Hotel Villa Del Sol"
Just a thought!! Good luck.

Was reading your message and noticed that you were asking about Villa Del Sol--may I suggest you also consider in Zihuatenejo--La Casa Que Canta, rated no. 11 in best small hotels in foreign countries by Conde Nast Travelers Magazine. Use Google and enter website. Also good feedback with Fodors online destination Guides-Mexico.

The Jamaica Inn is wonderful. I haven't stayed at any of the other properties you mention though so can't offer a comparison. But if you have any questions specific to the Jamaica Inn, I'll try to answer them.

Paula:

I haven't stayed at the Golden Lemon, but have had lunch there. We had a great experience. The staff was friendly, but not overbearing. The guests seemed to be relaxed and very much enjoying themselves. The entire premises was quiet and romantic.

I also hear their rooms are really great. There wasn't much of a beach there, though, so that is something to consider if you are a beach person.

Good Luck in deciding.

I have no personal experience but everything. I have heard or read about the Horned Dorset suggests it is a first class hotel. If you decide on this place consider flying into Mayaguez.

Thanks for your comments.....I hd considered addressing the matter in one posting in the title - but since Zihuatenejo - Mexico is on the Latin American board I wasn't sure the best way to go about it. Since the bulk are on the Carribean board, perhaps I will try it that way!

Paulaon't know Villa del Sol but have been at JI,Golden Lemon and Horned Dorset. Prefer the latter for its food, quiet, area, style.I'd however add Goldeneye in Jamaica and Las Alamandas south of P.Vallarta to your list of possibles.

Well, I found this small review on Horned Dorset:

http://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowUserReviews-g147319-d148451-r521942-Horned_Dorset_Primavera-Puerto_Rico.html

For some reason I remember reading some reviews of HD that were not that great, but I just can't remember the details. DUH!
