What about Jamaica mon?! My fiancé and I went Feb. 15th 05 for 10 nights - we got engaged there. We did 5 nights at Sandals Negril and 5 nights at another resort (not a Sandals) in Montego Bay.

If I went to Jamaica again, I would do Sandals Negril and then maybe Sandals Dunn's River or another resort in Ocho Rios.

Jamaica is so beautiful, beach-wise and culture-wise. It would be a very unique honeymoon for you two. Aside from the many sights to see there; (Dunn's River Falls, Martha Brae River rafting, Rose Hall Great House etc.), the beautiful beaches and the night-life (wooo-whoo Jimmy Buffet's Margaritaville!!) you can do it all or nothing at all.

Sandals resorts are worth the money - you never have to open your wallet and they treat you like gold.

Jamaican people are all so friendly! The jerk chicken and jerk pork are worth the trip to Jamaica alone. Also if you are into relaxin' wit da ganja...there is plenty of that too! Good luck!

Check out Ti Kaye Village on St. Lucia (www.tikaye.com). It's set on the west coast, about midway between the resort enclaves in the north and the Pitons in the south. It's a small resort with each room being a small cottage with a balcony and hammock, with a 3-4 of the rooms having private plunge pools. Rooms are built into the hillside and so have fabulous views. This place gets tops ratings for food, service, and ambience and it's in a moderate price range. The beach is down a long flight of steps.

St. Lucia has beautiful rain forest to explore, a stunning botanical garden, and more natural beauty than any other place I've visited in the Caribbean.

On Friday nights there's a local fish fry in the village just up the road from Ti Kaye--tourists and locals alike crowd the streets for it. You can go snorkeling from shore there and you can take a catamaran cruise down to the Pitons for more site seeing. Ti Kaye offers a lovely honeymoon package--cottage with plunge pool, breakfast daily, sunset cruise and other perks. You should really check it ou!

p. s. I see that Tom's message has been deleted already, but he was referring to The Reef Resort on the east coast of Grand Cayman. I think the website is something like www.thereef.ky, but you can do a web search for it.

Based on your criteria, the first place that came to mind was St Lucia. We were there 3 years ago and stayed at the Jalousie Hilton, right between the Pitons. Had a private plunge pool and very beautiful. St Lucia has lots to offer and there are many other great places to stay.
I would also echo the thought on Kauai. We just returned from 9 days there, spent 3 nights on the North Shore at Hawaiian Romantic Cottage, simply the most romantic place we have ever been, and then down to Kauai Hyatt for the remainder of the trip. It was great.
Good luck with your decision.

I'm not sure what your budget is but you might find your perfect honeymoon in the USVI or the BVI. The hilltops make the views of the ocean seem to go on forever and you can lie back with your new spouse and be lazy by the pool and enjoy some tranquility. There's lots of action and fun over in STT, so I think it would all have something for you. This will be the most memorable time in your life - enjoy!
