Honeymoon Help!!
My fiance and I are getting married December 15, 2000. We want to take a honeymoon somewhere in the Caribbean, but don't know where to start! THere are soo many places.
We are looking for nice beaches, lush mountains with waterfalls to explore, horseback riding and good food. Any suggestions??
Also, is crusing the carribean a good bet?

Consider Grenada, which has all of the above and has the advantage of being off of the beaten path. Visit www.antilia.com for more information on the attractions, lodging, etc.

I would NOT suggest a cruise for your honeymoon, there is just not enough privacy or freedom. I suggest going to Grand Cayman. Its the perfect location for a honeymoon because it doesn't offer many "detractions". The shopping there is fair at best, there isn't any fantastic scenery, no sites to see, but the beaches and ocean are first rate, the restaurants and food are excellent, and theres just enough to do (like swimming, snorkeling, sun bathing) to keep you busy. The island is also safe and the people are friendly. I also suggest staying at the Westin. The Westin is the best hotel in Grand Cayman. Its located on a great beach and the ocean there is like a swimming pool- warm, clear, calm, and relaxing. You can be served on the beach
and the hotel also has some great restaurants. The hotel itsself is clean, roomy, and well-kept. I proposed to my wife on the beach there. Beleive me, you won't be dissappointed if you like good service, good food, and excellent surf to play in.

Have you considered Aruba? Aruba is a small, clean and friendly island in the deep southern caribbean. It is not very scenic, but the beaches are great, the food is excellent and the water is crystal clear. We have been to Aruba twice and we are going there again for a portion of our honeymoon in June. In Aruba, you can rent a car or jeep and tour the entire island. The casinos are fun and there is plenty of nightlife. We love Aruba and I think you will too. The Hyatt is the way to go. Beautiful and excellent.

I agree that Grand Cayman is a great place for a honeymoon. It is a relatively "easy" place to vacation (no hassles). The beaches are beautiful, great snorkeling, and good restaurants. We just got back from St. John and loved that even more so I would consider it another good choice. It is the most beautiful place I've ever been, but is generally more expensive and requires more planning to get the most out of it. I would stay away from St. Thomas (it certainly wasn't my favorite anyway) and would avoid cruises unless you like being herded around.
