OK, that makes sense. Thanks.
I suppose thought that there are very different Atlantic exposures at different Atlantic-facing beaches. Mead's and Shoal Bay East are pretty calm, although not as calm as Maundy's, and Little Bay is extremely calm, whereas the northeast part of Anguilla has less calm water.

Mustique Island SV&G...hard to get to, almost deserted in June, a variety of beaches to yourself, no automobiles, three restaurants, oogle Mick's house, nothing to do... glorious. Rent a small house with a cook and maid. We did and are going back for more of glorious nothing again this year.

i agree with all those who say st johns. my husband and i split our honeymoon between the USVI and BVI. caneel bay, st johns USVI is premier but worth the money and secluded. rarely have to leave the resort. beaches were beautiful. (pool was questionable at the time) their sister resort is little dix bay in virgin gorda, BVI. the baths are spectacular. a honeymoon to the virgin islands is simply romantic, beautiful, memorable.
