Help! I need honeymoon advice
I am getting married in November and desperately am wanting to find the ideal honeymoon spot. We want to totally relax by a private pool/beach, go snorkeling in amazing water, hike during the day, go on sunset cruises , and have fabulous meals. This is the only time in a long time we are able to splurge so where and what hig end resort/hotel do you recommend. I hear Caneel Bay, Hawaii , 4Seasons Nevis or La casa que Canta (Zijan. )are among the best. Any advice?

I would select a resort where probably there would not be many or no babies/children since it is your honeymoon--I have seen La Casa Que Canta online and it looks breathtaking, that would be my choice or Hawaii. Have been to Hawaii many times. The Big Island of Hawaii is very quiet and our favorite island so I would recommend this island or travel to the Big Island and Maui--20-30 mins. flying time between islands and its great to see 2 islands. Advice on resorts from Fodors online (click on Users Rating) or Where2Stay.com. You might want to check average climate for these destinations. Good luck.

hey kylee... I got married last june and we had our honeymoon at Villa del Sol in Zihuatanejo. We loved zihuatanejo...it was a cool little town, and both VDS and casa que canta are very couple oriented (although there was one family at VDS). we met lots of other honeymooners, and that was a really fun part of our trip. the beach in zihua is nice, but i think the ocean isn't. there is no snorkeling to be had unless you take a trip, and from what we heard it was over rated.

i've also recently stayed at caneel. it was amazing as was st. john. but, we are in our early 30s and felt like some of the youngest people there. there were lots of couples on Scott Beach (no kids allowed), but no one our age... no honeymooners that we met. also, even though you can get away from the kids on scott beach, there are lots. we had some staying in the room below us and could hear them in the early a.m....not super romantic and private. but st. john is so great and i think would fit all of your criteria... the restaurants were incredible, and there are amazing hiking and snorkling opportunities there. i think you should look into renting a luxurious private villa. try www.wimco.com for options or where2stay like the previous poster. basically, i don't think you can go wrong with any of your choices. nancy
