Help choose an island and resort

Narrowing down our Christmas/New Years 2008/09 trip. Have not been to many of the caribbean islands.Looking for beautiful white sand and turquoise water beaches, upscale accomodations, and beautiful views. We are a couple in our 40's and our two daughters aged 20 and 22. Have come down to Little Dix in Virgin Gorda, Cuisinart in Anguilla, or Jalousie Plantation in St. Lucia. Thoughts or other recs are highly appreciated!

Though the Jalousie on St. Lucia has a more stunning location and Little Dix is arguably a better resort, for the criteria you mention, only Cuisinart on Anguilla really fulfills "beautiful white sand and turquoise water beaches."

Jalousie, while in the most incredible location, lacks luxury accommodations and turquoise water, though they do have imported white sand.

the tourquoise water you seek will be found on coral based islands like grand cayman or provo, turks & caicos. both have some very nice resorts on the beach. even anguilla is volcanic.

Anguilla is volcanic? Really? I totally thought it was a coral island. I wouldn't have thought sand that white could be on a volcanic island.

Anguilla is limestone/coral and is renowned for its beautiful, powdery white-sand beaches.

The three places you mention couldn't be more different, though each offers all the things you say you're looking for, though the views on Anguilla are certainly very different from those on St. Lucia or Virgin Gorda.

Of these three resorts, I'd probably choose Cuisinart so your daughters have more off-resort options. At either Little Dix Bay or Jalousie, you basically find your nighttime entertainment on site.
