Harbour Island Lovers
Just thought I would let you know that the new Spring Lands End catalogue is filled with pictures taken on Harbour Island in November. We watched them do two days of shooting while we were there and they told us they would be there for 18 days! When I got the catalogue yesterday, I could actually see the people we saw being photographed.
They all stayed in a cottage colony (of sorts) between Sip Sip and Runaway Hiill (neither of which was open when we were there). From the shots, it also looks to me like they took some group photos over by the Flats on the harborside (I think that's what the area is called).
The Lands End people told me they go there every year to do the shoot.
Brought back nice memories of that GORGEOUS beach!

Thanks for the post, now I'll have to run out and get the catalogue. I have been on island when other photo shoots were going on. The Express did one a few years ago and I went into the store all the time to look at the pictures, because it has been a while since I have been able to get down to the island.
Glad you had a great time while you were there.

Hi MIM04,
If you click on my name, you should be able to find my trip report from November (in case that's helpful).
We stayed at the Coral Sands. It was just the two of us and we liked it very much. It's not a Ritz Carlton but neither was the cost. I would say that the common areas were nicer than the actual room and if we went again I would spend the whole time in a Junior Suite to get more room and more light.
A villa sounds lovely. Nothing is that far away so any location would be great. Don't know much about provisioning, however, as the grocery store is quite small.
You will love Harbour Island. Am I right in remembering that you have been to many Caribbean islands? Maybe even been to our favorite spot--The Buccaneer on St. Croix?

Thank you. I will definitely read your trip report. I hope the weather is good when we are there. We live in Florida so I guess it will be a little bit warmer
Yes, I have been to most of the Caribbean islands. Am headed to Nevis in March (actually building a home there) And yes I have been t Buck Island. Our snorkel guide showed us a container of wedding rings that they found while snorkeling, lol. I used to live in the T & C, I have been to the Bahamas, but I have never been to HI. I am sure we will love it.
Thanks so much! I will definitely read your report!

I completely agree about Coral Sands: beautiful common areas, poor rooms. The "junior suites" in the old building do not look ANYTHING like the room photos on the website. They are spacious but very very dumpy. We "downgraded" ourselves (!) to a much smaller room in the building where the restaurant is that was far cleaner and nicer although minimal housekeeping and a seriously uncomfortable bed and pillows. Next time I think I'll opt for Romora Bay.
