Didn't you JUST come back from a vacation, and you're planning your next one already??
You're as bad as me my husband would say!
By the way, I wanted to thank your for posting all your great pix. You spurred us to finally get a digital camera and used Shutterfly for our pix to Mexico.

No, this one isn't for me! (unfortunately). I'm playing travel agent for my girlfriend at work who is taking a long weekend trip with her boyfriend. I've also been helping my brother plan his Aruba honeymoon

But...the wheels are definitely turning for my next vacation!

Thanks! We think he's pretty adorable too
Frankly he's a great 2-year-old too. We were planning to wait a few years before taking him to Mexico because we thought the ruins might be too much for him (and we couldn't imagine going to Mexico without seeing the ruins!), but he was great on the trip.
And yes digital cameras are great!
This is the Omni in Puerto Aventuras on the Caribbean Coast, about an hour south of Cancun.
I posted a trip report on the Latin America board. Just search for my screen name.
We've never done Cozumel but would love to at some point.

To answer your original question, Harbour Island is a great day trip. If the Fast Ferry is still running, the trip takes close to two hours.

Thanks Derek. And what do you recommend doing on the island?

The Fast Ferry (www.bahamasfastferries.com) does 2 trips to Harbour Island daily and leaves from the dock downtown Nassau. The BoHengy is a large ferry and has some nice amenities so it's a very comfortable ride and fantastic scenery.

The island is small so they can walk everywhere or take a taxi tour (with Reggie, who will be at the dock to meet people coming over), or even rent a golf cart and explore on their own.

The beach is the main attraction on island, but there is a bit of shopping and a few good restaurants and the view of the ocean from Pink Sands or Coral Sands is really beautiful.

I will be on island starting Aug 2 for a week, so if they are going to be there around then, please let me know, and I would be happy to give them a tour of the island.
