Guavate, PR- Any info?

I know this is a little obscure, but I have confidence someone will have a clue!
I've read about the Sunday music and "pig" feasting in Guavate but our schedule doesn't allow for us to visit on the weekend.
Is there a Foderite out there who knows if the music "plays" other days of the week?
Other great suggestions for live salsa in PR, particularly in an outdoor venue?
Thanks so much

As far as I know Sunday is the only day that they do it. Quite an experience. So many places to find salsa music. If you are staying in Isla Verde, maybe you can get someone to take you down to Boca de Cangrejos. Your hotel can also help I am sure. Salsa is everywhere!

Hi welch! We went there on a weekday and it was dead. Hardly anything open..but we went at lunch, so not sure about dinner time. Doubtful though that it would be hopping on a weekday.

Thanks guys.
I was afraid of that. Now I have to convince my husband to spend four nights in San Juan at the end of the trip for this! Sigh.. Wish me luck!
We can't stay any longer in the villa we're renting on St. Barths.

I know that this is an old thread but I thought I'd update it since I just returned from a visit to Guavate. There is live music on both Saturdays and Sundays but Sundays is by far the busiest day. We went on a Saturday, arriving around noon, and there was plenty of action. The focus of activity is at the two large restaurants near the summit of the Ruta de Lechon, El Rancho Original and Los Pinos. Not to be missed!
