Need Help with Puerto Rico Planning
Hello everyone
We r planning 10 day trip to Putero Rico & neighbouring islands. Which would be best to visit in terms of time & money? We are intereted in lively popular islands with good beaches , sight seeing, culture, and good food.
What is the best way to travel b/w those & how much would it cost?
Thanks for your help.

I would consider a stay in Old San Juan for at least two nights to take in the various museums, beautiful architecture, the amazing forts, and the great food. This will be a very lively area with a good nightlife especially on weekends.
For beaches and a laid back vibe, I'd suggest Vieques. The bioluminescent bay is absolutely a must-do.
I'd also suggest a trip to El Yunque (the rainforest) and perhaps a trip to the west coast at Rincon. Lots of folks also like taking in the Areceibo (sp?) telescope and the caves.

St. Thomas might be a good choice for you. It is "lively", great beaches, lots of dining choices. You can take a hopper flight from PR for about $125 pp, one way. It is only about a 20 minute flight.
If you end up on Vieques, they also have direct flights to STT and even Tortola, same price.
Vieques is a great island, but I would not consider it lively! But has wonderful, nearly deserted beaches, history, decent food and as ej said, the biobay!

Old San Juan is about as lively as it gets. I just returned from 5 days at El Convento. There was a festival going on at the time, but Old San Juan is never really a quiet place. It is so great music and "Life" everywhere. Definitely plan on spening some time there. Lots of trendy restaurants, wonderful food and music.

I would suggest the Cavernas de Camuy, which are beautiful caverns in the north of the island. A trip to El Yunque is a must. On your way to El Yunque you must eat at the small eateries on the road. Also, visit the south. Ponce is a very nice place to go. There you have La Guancha. Also you can go and eat at Salinas where there is great fish restaurants. Also go to Palmas del Mar to eat fried fish, which is absolutely great. If you want a great beach you can visit Playa Sucia which is right after the Faro de Cabo Rojo. Of course, you must go to Old San Juan and visit El Morro and all the museums, see the cathedral. Go to the Parque de Palomas in Old San Juan where you can feed the pigeons. OHH the Arecibo Observatory is also really nice. You can visit el Tunel de Guajataca. Hope you have fun!!

American Airlines has best deals as well as Jet Blue.
Best time is anytime...especially now.
I'd stay at a villa-condo rental with Caleta Realty.
