Grenada After Hurricane
I am considering Grenada for an anniversary trip in November 2005. I know some of the hotels experienced some severe damage. Does anyone know whether the natural beauty of the island was damaged seriously as well (jungle, diving sites, etc.). Also, I'd love to hear people's recommendations among the several upscale resorts there (Laluna, Spice Island, etc.). I'm looking for small and isolated, with beautiful, secluded beaches, nice accommodations and lots to do (hiking, diving, fishing, etc.).
Thanks.
Thanks.

Spice Island Inn is (was) our favorite place. Their web site now has a cover letter saying that the place was pretty much destroyed by Ivan and is closed for a year. They say they are building it over as a luxury resort so who knows what that means. I doubt that it will still have the same charm and cozy feeling of the original.

I think the easiest thing to do here because of the many concerns you have is to advise that you go to http://grenadatravelforum.com where you will find any info you may need. It has a special topic with thelatest updates on the status of hotels and businesses on Grenada.
