Grace Bay or Parrot Cay??

After much research on-line and reading all of the helpful Fodorite tips, we are narrowing down our honeymoon destination in October and are now focused on Provo and debating between Grace Bay Club and Parrot Cay. I would love to hear some feedback from someone who has stayed at both! I like the secluded feel of Parrot Cay, but also would like to have options for dining, which I assume we would have more of at Grace. It also looks like Grace was recently renovated. Both look like beautiful resorts. Please let me know your thoughts on the pros and cons of each and which you liked better!!

Both are very nice resorts. There is another new resort worth looking into and that would be the Somerset. I would think this would be just as good if not better than the resorts mentioned for a honeymoon getaway.

The Somerset looked like condos which have been sold versus a resort? Have you stayed at Grace Bay or Parrot Cay?

We ate Lunch @ Grace Bay when we were there a couple years ago and sat and enjoyed drinks & the sunsets a couple evenings. It is beautiful!

I don't remember Parrot Cay. I've heard it's nice. We were at OCW by the way.

WE have stayed at Grace bay Club and it is very nice. It is also condos with kitchens. They just finished building about 30 more units. The restauranr Anacona is the most romantic on Provo Have not stayed at Parrot Cay for the resaons you mentioned. Nothing is there except the resort and we like dining options and a little more to do than be isolated on an island with just one resort.

I have stayed at Grace Bay and the new Somerset. Grace Bay the original may be closed in Oct for renovations, but they have a new section. The new section is condos that are sold and rented, like the Somerset. It still acts as a resort though. (Both of them) Somerset is not completely finished, but should be by October. Somerset is spectacular!
I've only passed in front of Parrot Cay, never stayed, but it looks spectacular.
Sorry I haven't helped much, I would stay at any in a heartbeat.
Have you considered splitting the trip?

Blamona: You're killing me. Should I now worry about being in a construction zone for our stay at Grace Bay Club? Will they be tearing down the old building or will it be painting-type of work? I know I could call them but I'm not sure how forward they will be. What are you hearing? Thanks.

Mika: We had same dilemma than you or our October anniversary trip. Loved the secluded thought of Parrot Cay, but at the end the choice of going to different restaurants won out. We booked Grace Bay Club with some great advice from Blamona.
Congrats on your upcoming wedding, by the way.

You are going to be fine!
Renovations are of the painting, new furniture kind.
The new construction of Grace Bay Estates are on the other side, so you're good!
I stayed there in May and there was nothing bothersome!
You will LOVE that beach!
and you will relax and have a great time!

Palm's is gorgeous, but active and crowded. Somerset is next door to it, yet has a secluded feel.
www.thesomerset.com allows to make reservations, and has a phone number.
Somerset, GBC, and Parrot Cay sound more like what you are looking for. Another secluded feeling would be at Point Grace.
You really can't go wrong with any of these.

Blamona- thanks so much- very helpful. Since you have stayed at both Grace Bay and Somerset- any preference on either one? Also at Grace Bay- any difference in the rooms in the tower versus the new villas? I think the hotel said all were renovated. thanks again!!
