Good All-Inclusive Resort for Single Thirtysomethings?
My best friends is straight and I am gay. Last March we went to Negril and weren't blown away by it. Granted, we stayed in Bloody Bay -- away from 7 Mile Beach -- but we don't want to return to Jamaica again this year. (I don't necessarily need a gay scene but the homophobia was palpable in Negril -- the hotel manager had to make a public apology to the dining room one night for insensitive comments from the staff. I don't hold it against Jamaica -- I'm just saying. I usually fly under the radar in any case.)
What is a good, all-inclusive beach resort for next March? We stayed at an Adults Only resort in Negril (Breezes Grand) but most of the other guests were significantly older than we. All my poor friend wanted to do was play volleyball but none of the other guests would play with us for fear of breaking a hip! We are not looking for little kids running around but I'd be more comfortable with the Spring Break set than a resort designed for older folks to relax.
Also, my friend doesn't so he would like the option of partying all night. (I'm generally asleep by 11.)
Any suggestions? Resorts or destinations? Punta Cana? Turks & Caicos? Antigua? Cancun?

look at the ai's south of cancun near playa del carmen. maybe one of the 5 riu's which have a facilities sharing system - if you stay at the right ones you can go to any of the others plus they have vans into pdc so you can party & not drive. and they have all night clubs within the resorts.
t&c is super quiet. have not been on antigua. have no interest in punta cana as it's a built for tourists town with not much besides ai resorts, but might work for you.

I agree with the RIU's in Mexico. We stayed at the RIU Tropical Bay in Negril, Jamaica and saw many gay couples. Though not one of my favorite resort chains, it might be what you are looking for.
Look at the boutique hotels on and around 5th Avenue in Playa del Carment, MX. Not AI, but within walking distance to many restaurants and bars.
The limited AI's in T & C and Antigua are probably not what you are looking for. I don't care for the DR and haven't been in many moons. If your looking for huge mega complex AI resorts with included entertainment and limited guided off property excursions, it might be what you are looking for.
Though not AI, Key West is a great vacation destination with awesome restaurants and very gay friendly. Not very beachy though.
Might look at Puerto Vallarta and Cabo San Lucas also. We did AI in PV, but it wasn't really necessary, but we like to drink on vacation, so worth it to us. Cabo is the same. Tons of restaurants.

Iberostar grand or Secrets Wild Orchid in Jamaica. I've been to Sandals....where the crowd is a mixed bag with a lot of younger couples. I've been to Beaches/Turks and Caicos, St. Lucia Grande, Sandals Antigua, & Sandals Grande Riveria. I've also been to Majestic Elegance in Punta Cana. I loved them all....if you have any specific questions, let me know!
