Gansevoort Turks and Caicos - Getting Around
Hi Everyone!
I've found lots of great advice on this forum, and am eager for any pointers. My husband and I are visiting Provo in October, staying at the Gansevoort for three nights. I'd like to visit the grocery store, the Grace Bay Club for drinks, Windsong Resort for a snuba trip, and perhaps some of the other beaches on the island. Would you "pros" recommend renting a car, renting bicycles, taking taxis, or just walking most places? It's hard for me to get an idea of relative locations of the different resorts, etc. Thanks in advance!

Staying at Gansevoort I highly recommend a car.
1 taxi ride will cost what an all day rental will cost.
Stright flat roads, driving is fairly easy.
You can walk to Windsong to snuba, and to snorkel at Coral Gardens.
You'll need a car for supermarket, drinks at GBC, to see Chalk Sound, an amazing sight! and to explore other beaches and resorts, some light shopping, and Da Conch Shack.
Although not a huge island, the cost of a car outweighs everything else.

We use Grace Bay Car Rentals www.gracebaycarrentals.com older but really well maintained cars, great service. Driving on the left is no biggie ( wife still won't try it, lol)

Hee hee. I have no advice, but I had to say something about your post title. I somehow thought that "Gansesvoort Turks & Caicos" was Dutch for "Getting around Turks & Caicos," which you then helpfully translated in the heading. And I thought, "Huh. That's odd. T&C isn't a Dutch nation." SO I clicked on it to read more.
That's all. Just wanted to share. I had no idea there was a place to stay on T&C by that name.

Thanks Caribzack. Looks like Grace Bay Rentals will drop-off/pick-up from the hotel, which is nice. Driving on the left will be a bit intimidating at first, but we'll just have to go into it with an adventurous spirit .

Just remember always yield to the person coming from the right ( in the roundabout) If you are going down the road and someone is in the round about...you must yield to them, seems funny as you may be going 40 or 50 and need to stop for them...it's easy though!!!
