from St Lucia-seeing other islands

My fiance and I are spending our October honeymoon in St Lucia and were hoping to get a chance to see other islands. How difficult (and expensive) is this and what islands are nearby?

you can do a day trip to Tobago Cays, and that will be the highlight of your trip! The day trip is inclusive of flight to Union island, then boat to Tabago Cays, with stops at others. (We stopped at Mopion Cay, which is a sand spit with umbrella, Petit St. Vincent, and palm island.) 'it includes lunch and drinks. it's not cheap, but it's a great trip!

Martinique is just north of St. Lucia. You can fly or there is also a ferry that goes between the islands. See link for times and cost.

tickie,

Where are you staying in St Lucia? Many of the hotels offer the day trip to the Grenadines. Sunlinktours also offers a day trip. It is approx $295pp. Our trip was slightly different than blamona but same concept. Flight to Union Island then all day sail on a catamaran. We went to Mayreau, Tobago Cays and Palm Island. This truly is a great trip. Fly at 8500 feet, can see all the reefs and turquiose waters. Not sure what the actual web site address is, but do a google search for St Vincent and the Grenadines official site and you will find the link. It will say Jewels of the Caribbean when you get to the site. We thought this was a great area to explore if unfortunately only for a day.

Like beerlover said, you can also go to Martinique for the day by ferry. Cost approx $190pp.

We very much enjoyed the Grenadines trip and would do it again.

We are staying at the Sandals Grande in Nov. Their web-site lists all the tours they offer including prices. Island trips include Martinique $190 p/p and the Grenadines $270 p/p

We will be staying at Ladera Resort and I know that they will set up tours for us but I don't believe they have anything pre-arranged.

Thanks for all the great suggestions - can't wait to get down there.

Tickie,
You will LOVE Ladera resort! My guess is when you see how incredible it is there that you wont want to take a day trip!!! It is the most beautiful place I have been to and I have traveled quite a lot. Once you have been to Ladera, you measure everything else against it! Enjoy!
