Frantic for Honeymoon advice!
I am getting married in July 2001 and my fiance and I have $4,000 MAX for our trip. We want to stay at an all-inclusive and need honest reviews on Rendezvous in St. Lucia I read they are very close to airport and wondered if anyone stayed there and can comment on that. Also Crystal Cove in Barbados I also read in review that that the hotel has a great number of stray cats. I was also wondering if I should look into Antigua. My first choice was the Sandals resorts but they are out of our budget. Any advice anyone can offer on those two resorts will be greatly appreciated.

I haven't stayed at the Rendevous on St. Lucia, but have stayed at Anse Chastenet twice, and have seen Ladera. Both are fantastic, and I'd highly recommend them. I know all-inclusive packages are available for Anse Chastenet, and expect they would be for Ladera. Since you're going in the off season, prices should be quite low compared to winter.

Regards,

Mike

Just remember that the further south you travel, the more expensive your airfare will be and therefore cut into your overall spending allowance. Is there a particular reason that you want to be at an all inclusive - or are you simply looking for the convienence. Talk with a travel agent about your budget and needs - as they may uncover possiblities and deals that you never would have thought of. Your $4000 can go a very long way if you plan carefully. My fiance and I went to St John USVI for a week and only spent about $2000 (including air) - however we did not go all inclusive.

Janelle- I had to laugh about the stray cats! Most of the islands and hotels have them, just follow the trail to the kitchen. We had kittens outside our room at Cap Juluca, my husband fed a cat at Caneel Bay and the cat thought his hand was food, lots of call to the CDC about rabies. The bottom line is that most of the islands have cats, lizards, land crabs and mice. I have seen them all at the very best hotels. Is it a problem, NO. We repeat at many places and never see the same cats or a cat agsin.
