Four Seasons Great Exuma

Has anyone been? I'm wondering specifically about how many kids there are, is there anywhere to eat nearby that's not necessarily on the resort, etc.? We're looking to take a quiet, childless 10 year anniversary trip! Any thoughts would be so helpful as we don't know anyone who's been to the property.

What time of year are you looking to go? We were there a few years ago in May. There were not too many young children around, but a fair number of babies. It's a quiet place in May. Frankly, I found the corporate conventioneers much louder than any of the families. We had a garden front room, and there was a convention tent pitched right out front of us much of the time. I didn't care for that. Would do beachfront next time for sure.

We only stayed a few days, so never left the resort. We thought the food on site was pretty good.

The beach is gorgeous - I've never seen water quite that shade of electric blue.

Have recommended this resort to my in-laws, so I must have liked it!

There is not much nearby to eat based on a visit in late 2005. But hotels were going up so maybe now there are options. The food on our 2 visits to FS-Great Exuma was poor-fair. We will not return despite the beautiful facility. The best weather in mid-March until late June and late-Oct to late Nov. Other times the high temps may not reachn 80+ and the water can be chilly. There is no good snorkeling at or around the area. Outside vendors offer tours that are somewhat interesting but not great, in our opinion.

Anyone been recently? What was your experience?

The reviews are very mixed on the resort -- bad service, mediocre food, etc.

Actually, my in-laws just returned a few weeks ago. They loved it. Both happy with the food and my FIL enjoyed the golf course. These folks have been just about everywhere, and they liked it so much they plan to return in Oct.
