Flights to Punta Cana

Are there any direct flights from the Northeast - Phila, Newark, NY? I am unable to find any. Do you have to go through Santa Domingo and take a road trip from there?

You can fly from Santo Domingo (with Air Santo Domingo) or you can connect thru San Juan with American Airlines.

The Punta Cana International airport code is PUJ.

If you can afford it flight direct, driving time from Santo Domingo is 4 to 4.5 hours and the road contidions arent excellent.

Good Luck,

Max

Clarifying:

San Juan (San Juan, Puerto Rico)
When I ment flight direct, only charter flights land directly from the continental U.S. you must connect thru San Juan, Puerto Rico.

If you want you may use Air Santo Domingo but they are not in the Sabre system.

Check with your travel agent to check for any charter flight.

Max

I'm flying to Punta Cana direct from Hartford CT through Apple Vacations. There were also flights from Newark, if that is closer to you. I would suggest looking into the Apple Vacations website. I got a great all-inclusive deal from Hartford for 7 nights.

Dave: Also flew directly from BWI into Punta Cana via Apple vacations charter. I know they fly out of Newark and other NE airports. If you're heading to Punta Cana, try to avoid flying into Santo Domingo as it's about a 3 1/2 hour ride from there to the various Punta Cana resorts.

Agree with Karen..avoid going through S.D. as it's a thre hour drive.. There are many charters such as Apple or GWV going from Providence or New York..you could go air fare only, but they are providing some great deals..

Thanks for your replies. I have since learned that TWA flies from JFK and Newark, but only on certain days.

Parrot Mom - What is GWV?
