Flight $868C PP
Is this rate good? It is from Toronto to Turks stopping in Miami. I have been looking at the prices for weeks and it either goes up or back to that rate. I know airline tickets are expensive but do you think this rate will go down if I wait. We already booked our condo and car rental. Any secrets on when to buy?
I went directly to Airline and it was actually a tad bit more. I tried flying out of Buffalo (so we would have to drive there from Toronto) and I couldn't get a cheap flight at all it was more. I heard there are really cheap flights if you travel from state to state. Even the flight from Miami to Turks was ranging about $500 so no big difference once you ad the two flights.
Please I've tried everything. Does anyone know when the best time to buy is?
If I wait do I risk losing the flight or paying even more?
thanks
Luisa

I really have no idea of what's considered a good price from Canada in Canadian dollars. You also don't say WHEN you are traveling. SO my advice is a little general for you.
If you've been watching the airfare for some time and the $868 is the least expensive you've seen it, then go ahead and book it. If the price goes down by more than US $100 per person, most US-based airlines I've flown will give a credit to you, less a $100 change fee. I don't know who you intend to fly, but I would imagine they would have a similar policy.
If the price goes down, but by less than US $100 per person, just consider the difference you've paid as insurance for your peace of mind in getting the tickets and itinerary you want. It's really a no-risk situation IF you can reconcile yourself to the money.

We flew from Cleveland,Ohio last May for $350 on AA--bought the tickets about 3 months before the trip. I seem to find the best airfares about 3 months before a trip.
$868 seems pretty high but you are leaving in 6 weeks. Check another week on www.kayak.com or www.sidestep.com. Have you checked on an Apple Vacations charter?

What airline are you looking at? I personally always prefer to book through the airline directly rather than through a site like Expedia. I wouldn't bet that Expedia would honor a change in fare like that, with or without a change fee.
You're traveling after mid-June. Even though it's low season for accommodations, it's part of the high-season prices for airline travel because of families traveling with children after the kids get out of school. I've been watching Caribbean travel prices like a hawk for the last 5 years, and every year the prices spike for travel mid-June through mid-August.
Without knowing what is important to you, it's hard to advise. But if I were planning the same trip, I would purchase my tickets now, but directly from the airline, because earning FF miles is important to me and because I would want to be able to change the ticket if the price went down by more than $100. Your opinion may vary and you might want the lowest price available NOW.

All I have to say is don't expect prices to drop but you can bet that additional fuel surcharges will be added with the incresing gas prices.
Good luck finding a cheap flight.
One last thing, aren't there charters that fly direct from T.O.? Look into that so to avoid the Miami stopover
