First Time Traveler to Puerto Rico
Does anyone have any good advice on traveling in Puerto Rico? We're leaving next week. We are scuba divers and have trips planned for the Guanica area so far.

Puerto Rico isn't exactly a top dive destination in the Caribbean. The best reefs are probably off the east end of the island, around Vieques and Culebra. But I think there is a one dramatic wall to dive off the coast near Guanica. Do you have any other interests? Where are you staying and for how long?

If this is your first time in Puerto Rico, you should visit Old San Juan. All the typical pictures you see of PR is from there. Another nice place is the rain forest, El Yunque. These places are both on the north.
If you are ONLY going south. Try a city tour to Ponce and the deserted island of Caja de Muertos (coffin island).
Most of the typical diving trips are usually north, but the south has the wall; where you get a chance to see baby sharks!

Hi.
Not sure about the diving in that area, but you will find it relaxing.
Check out the dry forest, Cabo Roja lighthouse, and the town of San German (has the oldest church).
Other options, would be to drive east to Ponce and if you are a little bit more adventurous El Yunque rainforest.
I have a couple of posts on my blog that might be useful:

We are staying in Dorado for 7 days. We would really like to go to the east side of the island and dive also. I've heard that it's really nice. The only reason we'll be in the south is to dive. Other than that, we'll concentrate our time to the north and east. We love anything to do with wild life and nature, and old architecture. I also love to collect shells. Are the beaches pretty good for that?
