Favorite Northern Carribean Island

Looking to plan our 30th anniversary with a nice trip. Been to St. Thomas (x2), San Juan, Dom.Rep., so looking for something special in the northern Carribean..don't want to go as far a Aruba, St. Lucia, etc. Looking for relaxation, minimal sights, great hotel with great service would be a plus, no fast pace area, no nightlife...Don't want to spend thousands of $$$ but willing to spend some....New to Fodor's Would appreciate any hotel/resort information. THANK you in advance!!!

welcome to fodors.
if caneel bay resort on st. john is in your budget you might like that.
bahamas & t&c are much different in topography than the ones you've been to. they are arid & mostly flat with stunning white sand beaches, good snorkeling, good bonefishing.
you might look at cape santa maria beach resort or stella maris beach resort on long island in bahamas. on t&c most of the resorts are condo style & come in many price ranges.
tell us your actual room budget & we can be more helpful.

Hi and welcome!
It would also be helpful to know what time of year you'll be travelling, the weather can affect our suggestions too.

If you are still thinking Bermuda, look at The Reefs, Cambridge Beaches and Tuckers Point.

I have been to 16 islands and the turks & caicos is the most amazing! Look at turksandcaicosreservations.tc. Not alot of nightlife or shopping but the color of the water is neon blue.

You can get to Nassau, T&C and Bermuda all nonstop from Atlanta, on Delta, and that's just off the top of my head, so lots of great options for you.

Check out Turks & Caicos for along (12 mile) beach to walk, beautiful water and relaxing. We love The Somerset resort www.thesomerset.com Great dining nearby , wonderful staff, oceanfront pool & upscale suites.
