Family eco time in Jamaica
We're a family of 4 (two tweens) going to Beaches Negril for 4 days over spring break. We have 2 days prior to that to do non-beach type things on the island. Is there anywhere to stay inland, near a good excursion or two, that is safe, "junglely", and would be fun for a family? Maybe a bed and breakfast type place?? Thankyou!

There is lots to do on the north coast of Jamaica in the St. Ann's Bay area. You might 1st check out www.chukkacaribbean.com/jamaica and then look into as a place to www.highhopeestate.com Negil and the north coast are much different from each other but both very enjoyable.

B&Bs will be more in tourist beach or urban areas outside the mountains/upland rainforest --junglely areas. If you're prepared to 'rough it' a bit (cold showers, ital Rasta food) either Esau's Blue Hole Gardens or Benji's Paradise, both at Roaring River Caves, about a half-hour thru the Frome sugarcane fields from Negril might be good base camps for exploration.
