Extra cash at all inclusive??

My fiance and I will be going to Sandals St. Lucia Halcyon for our honeymoon. I have never been to an all-inclusive resort before, and I am wondering how much extra money we will need. We will be there 7 days, would like to go on a few excursions, buy some souveniers and go to dinner in town at least once. I know food, drink and most activites are covered on the resort, but I don't want to run out of money or feel like we can't do certain activites. Thanks.

I found that if you tip the bartenders your drinks are a "bit' stronger...and always nice to tip the maids...

We have been to almost allof the Sandals resorts and have tipped the maids on our last day. We did tip a bartender at one of the resorts and the next day we found out he was fired. I felt so bad I thought it was my fault, but I later found out he had been accepting tips all along. We take some money for extra stuff such as taxis, shopping and things at the gift shop. You really dont need much at all.

We just returned from the Sandals Grande. We took $800.00 + 1 credit card. We spent money in the airports coming and going for food/drink. Quite expensive. At Sandals we purchased 3 tours which came to $389.00. We did some shopping, another $200.00. Made an appt. at the Spa, another $200.00. We did not tip anyone from Sandals, but did tip the tour operators and the transfer drivers to and from the airport. We've been to several AI's and generally take between $600 and $1,000 depending on the tours we are interested in and their cost.

Remember to include tips for the person who cleans your room. We leave a couple of dollars on our pillow each day, with a "thank you for cleaning our room" note - so there is no confusion about our intention. Don't leave tipping to the end of the week or you may miss the person who has cleaned your room the most.

Is it okay to tip barstaff and housekeeping? I have heard that they risk getting fired for accepting tips.
