Dominican republic trip

Right now it seems American citizens are limited where we can go. I Cancelled trips to Israel, Amsterdam and possibly cancelling Costa rica. Being that dominican republic is open I was thinking of going there. I went 10 years ago, def loved it. Dont known if this is true but i am hearing that the country might close the airports again. Has anyone heard of this to be true.

The thing is everything is constantly changing... Even if we knew the answer for you today, which I do not, could change tomorrow. For example Hawaii was set to reopen Aug 1st, but that has just been extended another month, and quarantine upon arrival reinstated.

As of July 13, 2020, the DR had many more cases by far than any other Caribbean island, 903 deaths and 226 in critical condition. You might want to delay your visit another year...

Sad but not surprising. I can't imagine an island like that having the infrastructure to deal effectively with the pandemic. Just because they are "open" does not mean it is wise to go there.
