What are islands like now during the Covid pandemic?

Is it possible, or even safe, to visit St. John, Turks and Caicos, etc?

Since we canít enter Europe at this time is it an option to visit the Caribbean as Americans?

Some islands are opening, but some, through very tight restrictions and quarantines, have been able to become COVID free, so it is questionable if those will allow Americans any time soon. So, it is island by island. Frankly, it is probably safe for Americans to go to the islands, but not safe for them for us to visit. Those little islands just can’t afford big outbreaks.
Losing tourism is bad and they are really suffering, but sickness and deaths would be worse. I hope the ones that are OK so far can stay safe.

The government of the VI has just shut down tourism: https://usviupdate.com/ No one is allowed to rent rooms or villas to visitors for 30 days.

Aruba and Turks & Caicos have been added the quarantine list for the UK, not sure about the US. Anguilla's borders are closed until 31 October. Arriving in St Maarten requires you to have a negative COVID test 72 hours before arrival. We looked into going to Anguilla from the UK later this year, but decided against it for the moment.

Thanks for the updates. Staying safe from the virus is most important. Next hurdle to get through for the islands is hurricane season. 2020 has not been an easy year. Hopefully things will get better in 2021.
