Dominican Republic and other ports, VISA questions
Posted on the cruise forum too.
Am I right that for a US citizen on a cruise I DO NOT need visas for Mexico, Costa Rica, Panama, Jamaica?
Our cruise ends in Dominican Republic. This is where it gets confusing.
I need a visa, right? But what is the "travel card" that I can buy there if I don't have a visa, do I need special photos for that?
Flying home from Santo Domingo on the day of the cruise ship arrival.

There are no places in either Central America or the Caribbean that require Americans to get visas.
Upon arrival in the D.R., it's not complicated at all. You have to buy a travel card, but the true purpose if this is to get your US dollars. No photo is required. Keep the card and turn it back in upon your departure (otherwise you have to pay again).
It's really very simple.
