Hi: Expect to pay about $120 (US). The food is a bit uneven, it depends on what you order. It's a fantastic experience though, so it's worth it. They have a great manager's party and buffet on Monday nights you may want to consider. We stayed at the Jalousie Hilton and went for dinner 2x at Ladera and once for lunch, that's how much we liked the setting. Service is very good.

Dear Island Girl:
Monday Night buffet at ladera sounds good. How much can we expect to pay for hte buffet? Also, is the managers cocktail party open to non-guests. Planning also like you to stay at Hilton. By the way any comments on the Hilton. thanks

I stayed at the Hilton 2 years ago and we are going back in July. The manager's cocktail party is open to non-guest and it is much better than the Hilton's in my opinion. You need to make a reservation and go up around 5:30-6:00 to view the spectacular sunset. They have free drinks until dinner. If I remember correctly - dinner w/drinks was about $120 for 2. The Hilton is great but I didn't care much for the food. I much prefered to eat at the Bang and I also recommend stopping at a grocery store in Soufriere at the beginning of your trip to stock up on some things (unless you are AI). I don't chose the AI because I am not crazy about the food and prefer to experience dinners at different locations (Ladera and Bang). Also - make sure you make a reservation at the Bang for the Wed. night show. It was loads of fun. If you take the shuttle down to the Pier restaurant and walk to the edge of the Hilton property - the Bang is right there. The guy who owns the Bang is pretty interesting - he once owned all of the Hilton property. You can't miss him - he is usually dressed in all white and has snow white hair - I believe his name is Colin if I can remember correctly. He has quite good stories. Have fun!!! I am looking forward to going back.

Just got back from St. Lucia on Monday. We ate at Ladera twice for dinner. Expect to pay approx. $110 or more for 2. Food was excellent!
Also, consider dinner at the Plantation House at Jalouise Hilton. We stayed at the Hilton. Dinner will run about $120 for 2 as well.

Which room did you stay at the Jalousie and was it recently refurbished? I am returning to the Hilton the 1st week of July. If I remember correctly, when we were there 2 years ago we stayed in 602. It was a very nice room but there were a number of rooms that had been remodeled and ours had not been yet. Also - do you know if the hotel was full? Although I have been there before (about 2 years ago) any other suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

HF,
just got back from two weeks in SL. One week in Soufriere (Anse) and the second up north (Royal SL).
Ate dinner at LaDera one night. We ate there on a Monday. It was seafood buffet and it was awesome but a little pricey. I think we paid $42 US per person plus the tax and service (additional 18%). Monday is actually a good day there as the manager's reception starts at five or six. That's free happy hour kind of food (which was still really good) and free cocktails. And they didn't care at all that we were staying at Anse. I checked out the regular menu and the average price is about $25-30 US but then there's the 18% tax and service.
On Wednesday night eat at "Bang". It's a property just south of the Hilton and it has a Cirque de Soliel (sp) type show. I think that's $30 per person without drinks but includes dinner. I had fish and it was pretty good. It's owned by Lord Glenconnor, a cousin to the queen.
Food at the Hilton and Anse didn't compare in quality to LaDera. If you go early ask to see the rooms there, they were pretty amazing, especially the two bedroom suite.
The Anse manager's reception is on Wednesday night, if you care to partake. Wasn't as good as LD's but it will give you a chance to see the property.
