Condition of beach in northern 7MB?

I'll be in GC in June and would like to hear an update of erosion on northern 7MB from a local resident or someone who has been there recently (March). Thanks!

I live in Grand Cayman. There is significant beach erosion between the Marriott hotel (not to be confused with the Marriott Courtyard) and the Royal Palms Beach Bar, but some of the sand has returned so it's not as bad as it was. As far as northern 7MB, it's not as bad as the south section, unless we're talking about very specific areas. Are you planning to stay somewhere in particular, then I can give you better information?

The Marriot resort is on the southern part of 7MB. There is quite a bit of erosion there. There is a beach, just not too much of it. I don't know if it is rocky or not, maybe others will have that info.

We're staying at Aqua Bay. Stayed at the Hyatt last year and want the "quiet" end of GC this time. I know there is supposed to be some rock or coral around AB, but don't mind because we are snorkelers. But also like to swim and lay on the beach--does that area have their beach back and is there a sandy bottom to swim in at least near AB? Thanks for your help!

Hello, last time we visited AB, 2 mos ago, the beach was fine. A slight rocky entrance into the water but after that a nice sandy bottom. Since you are a snorkeler, you must try cemetery reef. As you are facing the water at AB, turn to your right and walk for no more than 5 mins. When you reach the cemetery on your right, swim out 100 yards or so and you'll be there.

Hey Island Guy,

I'll be driving up that way in the next couple of days. I'll take a look at the beach and get back to you. I believe it's fine there though.

We have a condo reserved at a place called The Anchorage. Does anyone know how the beach is there? Thanks

Sorry--I meant to add that The Anchorage is at the north end of 7MB.
