Cap Juluca or Peter Island?
We have made reservations at both Cap Juluca and Peter Island for mid-May. I've heard mixed things about C.J. these days but don't know if it's accurate. Does anyone know if the rooms look a little worn at C.J?
Rooms, service, beach and access to water activities are important to me.
Thanks everyone.

I've never been to Peter Island but I LOVE Anguilla and had a WONDERFUL time at Cap Juluca. The rooms at CJ could use some updating, but my husband and I read the same reviews and did not feel the rooms were as "worn" as people stated. We also stayed at Cuisinart and thought the rooms there were nice too, although the service at CJ was FAR superior, IMO. The beach is great, and the beach attendants are there with anything you need, just raise a flag on your umbrella! We stayed in a Junior Suite which was WELL worth the extra money for the private solarium. Good luck with your decision.

I have never stayed at either, but have toured Peter Island while sailing in the BVI's. It is absolutely beautiful. If it wasn't for the long trip to get there for the few days we manage to get away from our kids, I would go there in a second. The BVI's are beautiful. If you ever want to try something different, I just wrote a trip report on The Caves, Jamaica. It was an amazing getaway for future reference.

We've been to both and loved them for different reasons. Cap Juluca (IF you can get a suite with the 2 person soaking tubs) is very romantic and laid back. That said, we found ourselves renting a car and driving around the island looking for great restaurants (there's lots of them). It was a wonderful hotel and we had a ball exploring and eating.
Peter Island IF you stay in a BeachFront Suite really can't be beat for service, three wonderful beaches, two restaurants, and great service. You'll probably stay mostly on the island since there's a lot of watersports and other things to do. (going out with the Dive shop on their snorkeling trips is a must).
So it depends on what you want.

My wife and I stayed at CJ last summer for a week. It was fantastic but the rooms are getting a little worn. We had a nice big room close to the lobby but still things need some sprucing up. I understand the owner's are having some legal difficulties in court over ownership and nothing's being done to keep the place up. We had a nice time and really enjoyed Anguilla but If we go back we will stay at Cousinart. We visited and like it. Sorry but can't help you with Peter Island. I know the resort's all on it's onw island. Sounds too quiet for me. Anguilla is a great place to visit. The restaurants and food is outstanding. Go to Cuisinart and enjoy yourself.
