I stayed at the Westin Regina Cancun in October l993. The hotel is very beautiful. It has a very unique loby, in the fact that it is completely open air off of a plaza with 50 little lighted fountains. The floral arangements are delivered in the back of a pickup they are so large. There are several pools some with water falls on both ocean and lagoon side of the hotel. From the beach you can see the gentle curve of the gulf and the hotels built on the shore. I was not impressed with the one dinner I had there, but lunch at the beach was very well done views of both ocean and pools. They do a very good job at attending to guests needs and are very helpful.

The only resort I would consider in Cancun is the Ritz-Carlton. It is beautiful, the service is superb and the food excellent. The location is perfect.

My family and I just came back from Cancun last night(Thursday April 10 1997). We stayed at the Westin Regina and it was nice. The location was somewhat far from the rest of Cancun, but it was nice that way, alot less crowded. The hotel rooms were
large and well cleaned. If possible try to get a room on the first floor ocean side its a lot nicer than the lagoon side. There were six pools and always plenty of room. The food in the hotel restaurant was very expensive, we only ate there a few
times because of that. There are several other places to go and eat that have better food and cheaper prices than this one. We really liked the restaurant called Captains Cove,(across from the Omni Hotel) prices were good and food was great!
All in all it was a nice place to stay. If you have any other questions E-Mail me at [email protected]. Hope you enjoy your trip!!

The 6 pools were lovely and the ocean was beautiful. The people at the hotel were very friendly. The food was alright at the Westin but it was very expensive. For food we reccomend Captains Cove, located acroos from the Royal Mayan. The food there was e
excellent and the prices were great! Be sure to bring your sunscreen, the weather was hot around 92 degrees every day. Hope you have a great time and if you have any more questions for me please E-mail me at the address listed above.

RE: water sports, food, peace and a good time. Cancun is the place to do get all of these. They have great water sports - you can do it on your own; there are tons of organized water tours and tons of places offer lessons ins scuba diving, windsailing, jet skiing etc... I recommend the jungle tour. It combines snorkelling and doubling up on a sea-doo. It's really fun. For food, there are tons of places that range from italian to chinese to mexican and of course, american. For peace, a nice rest on the beach is heavenly. Just try to wake up early to get a good spot on the beach. There are tons of organized sporting events on the beach offered by the hotels. All you need to do is check their schedule out. It's a great place. I've been there 5 times already and I still love it.

Has anyone heard what the difference is between the Sun Palace hotel and the Moon Palace hotel? Which one is the newest? Are they both 6* hotels? I do know that they are both owned by the same company and are all-inclusive hotels....HELP!

We stayed at the Westin Camino Real several years ago. It was great! If possible get a room in the tower facing the ocean rather than the bay. The location of this hotel is great because it is right on the point(Punta Cancun). We also stayed at the Krystal two hotels down the first visit. My choice is the Camino Real. This area also provides some of the best swimming at the beaches.Have a great time!

My friend and I are in our early 20's and going to Cancun at the end of July. Anything happening at the time? Also, just wondering about the newly renovated Calinda Beach resort, NOT Calinda Viva. Where are the hot spots in the summer??

Have been to and am going again this August to the Hyatt Cancun Caribe. Very relaxing and quiet if you have a Regency Club Villa room. It is away from the crowds, you have your own small pool and fairly empy beach. Have not been there for two years and looking forward to going back.
