What kind of honeymoon are you looking for, lots of things to do, or a small island with beautiful beaches and intimate accomodations. There are several nice places to stay on Nassau or one of the outislands "family islands" I can recommend.

On Nassau check out Compas Point, which is an amazing property and you will have a small "hut" right on the water, great food there and it is very private.

There is also Sandals and the Raddison Cable Beach and some nice places on Paradise Island.

If you would like a smaller island with great water sports, diving, snorkle trips and amazing pink beach, look into Harbour Island. (I go there a couple of times a year so I can be of help)

Abaco has a few really nice places too
and has beautiful beaches.

Let me know if I can be of any more help
and I would disagree with the earlier post here I have heard good things about Breezes on Nassau, it is on Cable Beach, and the grounds are very nice.

If you need any more info, please let me know.

Thanks for your response.

We have decided that we definitely want to go all-inclusive for 9 nights (Tuesday, May 2 through Thursday, May 11, 2000) -- I don't care if I miss out on the "flavor" outside of the resort. We want crystal clear water and lots to do. I really want to lock my wallet in the safe and not take it out until we're leaving and never go off the resort. We have never been outside of the continental US (other than Europe and I was nowhere near a beach). I'm sure we'd be taken aback by the gorgeous scenery anywhere we go. Oh, and we'd like to keep it under 5K. We don't want to give up luxury to save the money, but I'm also not set on Bahamas.

You seem well traveled and I'd appreciate your help.

Alicia, there are all kinds of all inclusive all over the Carribean, but pick an island that is safe (some are not right now) and a place where you have lots of options.

Have you talked to a travel agent yet? You might want to do some preliminary planning now, but if you book, you usually have to put some money down, so
keep your options open for a while.

Alot of resorts have honeymoon packages, that we would not hear about on the board, so a travel agent would be a good place to start for ideas.

I have been to St. Barth, St. Martin, Puerto Rico, Martinique and Guadaloupe and prefer the Bahamas over any other place I have stayed. The prices are better in the Bahamas and it is much easier to get there and it doesn't take as long.

You might look into Atlantis on Paradise Island or Compas Point on Nassau, Sandals Royal Bahamian. On an out island, you might want to check out Pink Sands on Harbour Island. (Private villas on the most amazing beach you will ever find.) It is a very small island and you have all kinds of options, like an
"x" rated picnic, where you are dropped off on a deserted island for a day with your honey food, drink (oh and lots of sun screen) for a day of total relaxation and fun.

Lots of snorkle opportunites off Harbour Island, including a train wreck, which is an amazing dive site.

You probably should finalize your honeymoon plans by the fall, so you won't have to worry about it, and can enjoy the rest of the wedding planning.

I got married in the Bahamas and it was wonderful, all we did was show up, everything was done for us and we just had a blast. We got married overlooking the ocean and it was georgeous.

Anyway, let me know if you need any other ideas.
