Any advice would be greatly appreciated on tentative plans to fly in to one island, take the ferry in between, and fly out of the other island in a 7 or 8 night trip. Also would appreciate best place to stay on each island (prefer small inns and b&bs with charm and restaurants to walk to nearby). Not sure about renting a car. I've read it can be expensive for automatic cars (if you can get one) and to be prepared to deal with aggressive driving, true? Are there other ways to explore both islands without exorbitant taxi fares, such as buses? Thanks!
