Best value time to go to St. John?

We are thinking about traveling from WAS (IAD/DCA) to St. John for a week or so with another family sometime in the next 2 years. Together there would be 4 adults and 3 kids so I think we would need at least a 3-BR, 4 would be better (and two rental vehicles). We are pretty flexible about the time of year but would like to try to time it around the kids' vacations. What would be the best time of year to go in terms of value for money while avoiding hurricane season? I'm thinking sometime after Easter through June but am happy to consider other times of year.

Thoughts on villas we should consider? We want to stay someplace preferably on the north shore or Ajax/Mamey/Bordeaux with nice views and plenty of peach and quiet; willing to consider Coral Bay or southeast side of the island. Not interested in Cruz Bay.

Rates vary from place to place but generally speaking you'll find the lowest rates of the after Easter and prior to Thanksgiving. May, June or July will give you a great combination of low rates and good weather.

Shoulder season usually starts by mid April (maybe after Easter week) and hurricane season doesn'r start until June 1 . The fall can be rainy with mosquitos.

While the "official" hurricane season runs from June 1 through November 30 - major storms are very rare in June and and a little less rare in July. The most active period for major storms is usually late August through mid-October - even then the odds of a storm striking a particular island are low.
