Best Snorkeling Excursion

I'm heading to paradise island in mid October and need some advise. I'm looking for a all day snorkeling excursion. I'm more interested in snorkeling than anything else. I remember having a great time with great snorkeling when I was there as a kid about 20 years ago.
Any recommendations?

You should check out my question regarind "Your Best Snorkeling" I am a big snorkeling fanatic, too. I have to say, the Virgin Islands offer the best and most opportunities for great snorkeling.

Last year on a cruise stop, we lucked out because we booked a Barefoot Sailing Cruise. Instead of the usual catamarans with 200 people aboard, we sailed (really sailed!) on a gorgeous old sailboat, maximum about 20 people, to a nice snorkel spot (can't remember the name of the spot). The captain was nice, snacks and drinks were provided (we did the half day but they have a full day also), and we had our nephew with us, who was entertained by the crew, and enjoyed it. Here's the website:

how about a fast boat all day trip to Northern Exumas? You snorkel with stingrays, see some sharks, and the water in Exumas is some of the prettiest in the world!!! All resorts in Paradise Island can give you info on it.

The snorkeling on Great Exuma is "fair" at Best. Maybe one of the other Exuma's has quality spots. We spoke with 4-5 locals into water sports and they confirmed we were in the wrong place. Andros has excallent snorkeling and same type of American Eagle from Miami goes there. I think it is about 50 miles south of Great Exuma. It has the third largest barrier reef after Australia and Belize, I am told.

Stewart Dive is another good option for a great snorkling trip. They will pick you up at your hotel and drop you off at the end of the day.

If you want a fun day, you might also go over to Harbour Island and snorkle right off the beach, there is a huge reef, about 100' from shore. There are also 2 dive ops there as well, Valentine's and Ocean Fox Dive.

You can take a very early am Bahamas Air flight (15 minutes) to N. Eleuthera and there is a late in the day flight back. There's also the fast ferry which does daily trips.

Have a GREAT time and enjoy the Bahamas.
