Here's a list of AI resorts on Antigua. The "best" will be relative as to what your are looking for. Antigua is more of an expensive destination than many other Islands, which is why we haven't made it there yet. Many hotels are set pretty far from the actual town of St. John so will require a car. As far as expensive and considered "luxury", probably would be Galley Bay and Sandals. Personally, I would have to mortage my house for a 7 day vacation at either hotel.

Blue Heron by rex resorts

Galley Bay

Grand Royal Antiguan Beach Resort

Hawksbill by rex resorts

Jolly Beach Resort

Sandals Grande Antigua Resort & Spa

St. James's Club

Hermitage Bay Hotel

Blue Waters

Cocobay Resort

Verandah Resort & Spa

Dian Bay Resort & Spa

My husband and I stayed at the Sandals in Antigua. We found the resort to be very clean and staff very courteous. They respect your privacy, but if you make conversation with them they are more than willing to talk. The food was very good. All three meals, something was offered for everyone's palate. We travel to the Caribbean every winter and have had some excellent food. I wouldn't call Sandals Antigua food incredible, but it's good. If you are looking for relaxation but want entertainment at night, this is the place for you. I'd rate this resort as a 4.5 star.
