Bermuda - US Cell Phones
Verizon customer serivce was not very helpful on this - so I am hoping others here can help.
a) Can you use (send/recieve) US cell phones in Bermuda.
b) Is it really expensive.
Any input would be appreciated.

We had verizon service in bermuda last august. You have to call customer service and they can make your phone able to dial and receive internationally. then you have to dial a code and update your phone-- they will tell you what it is. It is very expensive- i can't remember how much, but very pricey. Verizon should be able to tell you.
PS- verizon told my DH that our cells wouldn't work in anguilla but a friend on the island said they would so i insisted that they program us for intn'l calling. They worked.

During my trip to Bermuda in Jan, I was able to receive calls from locals directly to my cell phone. I remember one of the calls was about 5-7 minutes, I I was a little worried that my bill would be HUGE, but to my suprise even with the roaming charges my bill was maybe $8-17 dollars over the normal amount. I guess with Verizon it depends on what type of plan you have and time/day of the week?
I'd call again & get a better explanation, but it wasn't that expensive (but I was on the phone 15m max the whole weekend I was there).
