Bermuda - Oct. and hurricane risk?
Any Bermudians able to advise on weather and risk of hurricanes towards the end of Oct.? Looks like historical temps are about 80degrees and it is more rainy - how are ocean temps for swimming, snorkelling?

Hurricanes are always a risk from June through Nov. Bermuda was hit by a hurricane a couple of years ago in mid Oct.
That being said we went a few years ago in mid october and the weather was better than May. The ocean was warmer and there was no rain compared to our May trip. So, no one can predict the weather. Just book your trip with insurance. Leah, you should have great weather and ocean temps. Chik, Bermuda's high season is the summer months.

In my experience (lived here 5 yrs), Bermuda's summer lasts through mid or late Oct. So, you'll have warm oceans In Sept and Oct. Hurricanes, well, you'll just have to roll the dice. The h. season lasts from June to Nov and you never know when one will come in. In Bermuda, all year round I ALWAYS carry foul weather gear on my scooter, since you never know when a cloud might begin to spit. Even so, it is rare that you will have an entire week of rain. Conversely, two weeks of straight sun is pretty unusual too.
