Bequia Honeymoon - January 28
I stumbled onto to this forum while trying to decide where to go on my honeymoon. Well we are going to Bequia (Frangipani) 1/30-2/8. Can anyone advise me of the MUST do's and DEFINITE don't bothers. Is there anywhere to sunbathe topless? Which day sailing excursion can you recommend, etc., etc. It has been a very stressful year for both of us and we are looking for rest, relaxation, and those "kodak moments." Not looking forward to the 12 hours to get there though. Thanks.

Must do's include:
- Nando's and Mac's Pizza for dinner
- Sunday afternoon jump up at de Reef in Lower Bay
- hike out to Spring Pottery and the Turtle Sanctuary
- daysail to the Tobago Cays with Friendship Rose
- daytrip over to St. Vincent and an ecotour with Dani and Norris at [email protected]
- Bequia jazz festival at Plantation House (if the timing is right)
- daysail with Pelangi (owned by the Frangipani) to Savan for snorkelling and a Beach BBQ
check out "Bequia this week" at www.bequiatourism.com for more specifics.
Re topless sunbathing - definitely not something the locals are comfortable with. Not recommended.
Hope this helps

We were there last week. It's a lovely island. Must have fresh lobster. We dined at the Frangipani hotel restaurant- the food was good, our waitress was the ruddest person I have ever encountered on a trip! Angela acted MAD at us the entire meal and wouldn't answer our questions. Also, another 53 dollar amount was added to our bill. I protested and they removed it.
We took a taxi truck over to Friendship cove and had lunch at Mosquito and toured that small resort. I would recommend a visit. Nice people, great little bar.
Have fun!

Do not miss Tobago Cays, and if you can Mopion (sometimes called Sir Richardson) Mopion is a little sand bar with a tiki umbrella. Palm Island is also cool. All 3 provide kodak momments, and all 3 can be done with 1 day trip.
You can also do a day trip and go to Basil's in Mustique, hang out with the rich and famous in a beautiful setting.

My husband and I will be making our 3rd extended stay (a month) to Bequia in a few weeks. I agree with curiousx and would add the Porthole for Roti and a noon time rum punch at DeReef's on Lower Bay. That will definitly help you unwind.
Just make sure you have bug spray. The mosquitos can be quite a bother at night. Not enough to keep us away from this low key special place.
