Hi,<BR><BR>A friend and I are planning a trip and we can't decide between Punta Cana and Belize. We like that there is a lot to do in Belize (e.g. ecotourism, mayan ruins), while from what I've heard and read a resort is the way to go in the DR. We're not big resort people, though a nice pool and the beach would be desirable for one or two days. I'm concerned about Belize, because I would like the option of a pool/beach and relaxing in the sun if we want to do that. Are there some exceptions to the bad beach/hard-to-find pool scenario that I'm missing?<BR><BR>Can anyone recommend a place to stay in Belize that may have a pool or be on a scenic beach (we're thinking of Ambergris Caye for three days and somewhere on the mainland for a few days)? And/or can anyone recommend a place in the DR that's not exorbitantly priced and has a wide range or activities? Around $100 a night would be a good price for us, unless or course it's all inclusive.<BR><BR>My friend is sold on Belize because of the activities (interestingly, we don't dive or snorkel) but the cost is an issue. If we find something that is a great deal in the DR, we'll go there instead.<BR><BR>As you can see, I really need your help! I greatly appreciate all advice and insight... Thanks, and happy holidays!
