Belize

Hi - I'm going on a cruise stopping in Belize. I'm wondering if anyone has ever been on a tour that visits Lamanai and if so is it worth the entire day trip?
Thank you-

There is a Latin America section of this forum. If you post your question there it is more likely to be answered.

Last April, my husband and I visited Ambergris Caye in Belize. Our day trip to Lamanai included a boat, a bus, another boat, a Belizean style lunch, and a guided walking tour around the ruins. The people were wonderful and the ruins were amazing. We saw black howler monkeys as well as many species of bird and plant life.

For us Lamanai was a day well spent.

We went a couple years ago, but we were in Orange Walk Town, so our day was not quite as long. But it was a wonderful adventure, well worth the time.

When you go to Ambergris Caye make sure you sign up for the all day sail with two snorkels on El Gato. Very nice captain, great boat and good guiding on the snorkels.
