We just returned last week from Spring Break trip w/ kids. It was WONDERFUL...Try to get a room in the French Village...MUCH nicer rooms and the pool there is much nicer as well...Not that long of walk to beach..We were in main hotel area for the 1st 2 nights then moved to French Village and enjoyed it much better...Food is pretty good everywhere considering all-inclusive and soo many people..Our least fav. was Schooners. Also the "French Bistro" for adults only should be a little more reinforced to parents that it is "adults only" as we tell our kids that then have dinner next to a parent w/ 2 11 and 13 yrs. olds....

We would definately go back anytime. Kids loved it as well as mom and dad...Bottom line is this...If it was good enough for Michael Jordan and his family(who were all there same time as we were) then it certainly is fine by us!!

Have fun

Not necessarily "recent", but went on a big family trip there last May and had an awesome time. The French Village does indeed have the nicest pool and seems the nicest overall, but we were more than happy all the way over on the other side of the resort. As for restaurants - Schooners was actually our favorite, the King Crab Legs were amazing and the view quite lovely. Overall the food was very good, although I was a little disappointed in the Japanese restaurant. You didn't mention if you are bringing kids. My 2, plus the others we traveled with had a phenominal time. They adored the kids clubs and had to be "forced" to leave! Lastly, I should tell you that the beach there is absolutely gorgeous. In addition I loved that there are no high rise hotels and very little development. You could walk a little ways down the beach and feel totally secluded. BTW, the snorkling is excellent - make sure you go! Have fun, I am jealous!!

We are also thinking about trying Beaches T&C for April 2002 with our 12 year old. My biggest concern has been hearing about how crowded it is. I hate fighting for chairs at the beach or pool and waiting in line for meals. Is it like that during Spring Break? Thanks

the good points were 1]all the food you can eat 2]all the liqour you can drink 3]beatiful beaches 4]nice rooms 5]very good kids program . The bad points were 1]having to get up early to get a shady beach or pool spot 2]after a couple of days of beach and booze you might get boored unless you bring some extra $ for excursions.3]the nearby casino at Allegro is kind of small with NO CRAPS TABLE if thats important.4]outside the resort there isnt that much to do under 300$-400$a day.if you have alot of green, there are some nice excurtions.
