Beaches Sandy Bay

Has anyone been to Beaches Sandy Bay (formerly Beaches Inn) lately? I've been told a lot of renovation was done in recent months. Does it show? Has the food improved from last year? Thanks

Tara, we will be going there in April with our children 1 and 4. I will also be watching for you to post when you return. I've searched the internet and have come up with very little about this resort. Have a great trip!

We got married in 2000 at Beaches and many of our family members stayed at "Beaches Inn". They loved the accomodations and actually favored the food at Beaches Inn to Beaches. It is a great value and you still have access to the Beaches and Sandals minutes away. Enjoy!

I'm going in August. It's smaller, more intimate than next-door Beaches, more relaxed. I was there when it was Poinciana, before Sandals bought it. The rooms are much closer to the beach than at Beaches; fabulous ocean views! The greatest beach in the entire world!! Linda

I just returned from Beaches Sandy Bay. We were upgraded to a two-bedroom and it was very nice. The beach was wonderful and the watersports great. The food on the other hand was grim most days. Breakfast tended to be the best meal. The best food tended to be at the Beach Grill - burgers and grilled cheese. I can provide other information if you contact me. One thing to consider is that there is no ATM or credit card advances at the resort or at any of the other nearby esorts.

Melissa, is it true that you can go to Sandals if you stay at a Beaches? I didn't know they had exchange privileges between the two. We are having a weddingmoon at a Sandals and are looking for options for our single guests.

Hi,

I stayed at Beaches Inn last May and yes, you can get into Sandals (only couples) if you sweet talk the security guards! The brochure we had said that we could use the facilities but the guards didn't seem to know that! We found that having convinced them to let us stay the first time, after that they just let us in! Beaches wasn't a problem to get into at all....

When we were there, they had stopped the courtesy bus to Beaches - that meant a 20 min stroll along the beach which was lovely during the day but a bit scary at night!

Lesley

Lesley
