beach villa rental
Our family (my husband and I and 4 children ages 18 - 24) are wanting to rent a villa for a 8 days in June in the Caribbean. We don't have a specific location in mind, but this is what we are wanting.: A 3 bedroom/2 bath villa that sleeps 6 (not condo) that is on the beach. A safe location. Prefer $500 or less a night. Our goals for the vacation are relaxing, swimming, snorkeling, some quality family time and more relaxing. We do enjoy water sports so a location near by where we could rent kayaks, parasail, rent jet skis etc. We aren't into clubs and the nightlife scene. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

you should consider the maya riviera coast south of cancun. near akumal or playa del carman would ensure access to parasail & jet skies. locogringo is a good site for info on everything!
sample villas:

there is so much to do in this area - tour ruins, ziplines, jungle atv tours, horseback, golf/tennis, fishing, caves/cenotes, snorkel/scuba, duty free shopping in playa del carman and 2 great eco marine parks xel-ha & xcaret.
most villas come with a housekeeper. often a cook is available. really good shopping for groceries in playa del carman.

White Bay on Jost Van Dyke is one of the most beautiful settings anywhere. Perfectly situated on White Bay is The Pink House http://www.pinkhousebvi.com/home.html
One of only three villas on the beach. 3BR, 3 Bath, $3500/wk summer rate, available June 11-18
Grab it quick...it IS what you're looking for.

dtstahl thanks for the info on the pink house. It looks amazing! I showed there website to a couple of my kids and they loved it. It's a little more complicated to get to, but we are going to see if we can make that work.

The best route is to fly into St Thomas, USVI (STT). From there you ferry over to Tortola (45 min) then another ferry to Jost Van Dyke (30 min).
Here's a link for ferry times between USVI and BVI. http://www.bestofbvi.com/info/bvifer...hn_tortola.htm
Notice the last ferry from CA (St Thomas) to Tortola (WE) is 4:30 - 5:00 and the last from West End, Tortola to JVD is 6:00.
We just did this route Spring '09 and it works very well. The ferry is a nice way to begin to settle in.
The earlier you can get to STT, the better. If you have to take a late flight, just overnight in Charlotte Amalie, St Thomas and take the direct ferry to Jost the next day (8:00 AM or 2:00PM). I can recommend some places for you if you need it.
