Barbados winds

Barbados is much more lush, green, forested, which seems to cut down the strength of the winds, particularly on the leeward west and southwest coasts where nearly all the hotels are. Strong enough to be refreshing, but won't blow sand in your face.

I was in Barbados in February a few years ago, and for the most part, the winds were not that bad, but there were a few times when it was windy and started raining where I did get pelted with sand (on the south coast and on the east coast). I haven't been to Aruba so I cannot compare the two places.

Have been to Aruba and live in Barbados. Bdos is not as windy as Aruba, but if you are into wind-driven sports, it is great for that. In February it will be cool and even chilly at night. Not usually too much wind-driven sand but it can happen.
