Bakeries on west end?

going back to AXA this summer and was wondering if there are any full service bakeries, ie.. croissants, french bread, pastries, etc that anyone recommends. Seems like we always have to drive into the Valley to buy pastries where there is any kind of selection. the drive in from Carimar is about 30 minutes each way so would like to try to save some time this year. Suggestions?

Whoops meant to be inquiring about bakeries located on the west end.

GeeWee's in a small plaza on the main road has pastries -- I don't know what time they open, though.

I think I may have used them last year. Seems like the trick was to get in there around 6 a.m. because the workers on projects on the west end came in early. There are also a couple of other small ones on the road to the valley (RH side) as you go in but I am not sure what they have other than sandwiches. I never was there early enough.

You could also try Amy's on Blowing Point Road.

Near Shoal Bay: Le Bon Pain Bakery. http://news.ai/ref/lebonpain.html
Fantastic croissants, breads, pastries and sandwiches baked on the premises.

having just returned I can comment on my own question. I didn't really find anything on the West End that offered much of a selection. I did not try Amy's however. I found the best selection at Ashley's Ice cream parlor for pastries and also at the upstairs bakery at Koal Keel. Le Bon Pan was just a little to far to go from the west end even though I have tried them in the past and I agree they are great.
