Considering San Juan in August

I'm considering taking a solo trip to San Juan for a few days. I'd probably stay at the Atlantic Beach Hotel. To cut costs, I'd be going in the middle of the week. Will the place be dead so far off season? I'm looking to be around people.

San Juan has no "off season" - it's a major city and is busy all year long. Don't worry, you be around a lot of people. Enjoy yourself.

Thanks! But do you think that there will be nightlife on a Monday or Tuesday night?

You'll find something going on every night of the week. Lots of nightlife in SJU.

San Juan is less crowded with tourists in August, than in the spring but as it is a major metropolitan area, there are always people around. Just like any metropolitan area, however, Mondays and Tuesdays will be much quieter than the weekend. As far as the Atlantic Beach Hotel, have you checked TripAdvisor for reviews? It seems to get a good share of bad reviews. It is on a pretty decent stretch of beach, though.
